Galina is a large, high temperament black sable female with pronounced prey and defensive drives. She joins our Internationally Acclaimed lineup of top producing females as of November, 2009. Galina has calm, full grips, tremendous work ethic and excellent retrieve drive. She has a deep nose and is a serious and natural tracker.
Galina is half sister to our exceptional females Hilda and Heidi through her sire, Illo von der Absfuhr, (SchH3, IPO3 Czech National Championship competitor) a noted producer of very hard, driven working progeny. You will also see the famous German working line litter P. v.d. Schafbackmuhle that yielded top producing stud males Pollux and Pike, sired by the internationally renowned Karlo v. Peko Haus. Karlo, Pike, and Pollux were very well known for their ability to impart a great deal of hardness/drives into their working progeny.
Galina's dam was one of the last true Border Patrol bred and producing females. Darka spent most of her breeding career producing for the former Pohranicni Straze breeding station. She was a 100% Border Patrol working bloodline female and goes back on Border Patrol great Grim z PS as well as a number of the finest Border Patrol working lines that were utilized by former z PS.
This exciting and proven bloodline combination is noted for producing hard, seriously driven progeny with excellent focus to the handler and a high desire to please, suitable for high level sport, SAR, dual purpose police work and executive/family protection.
Galina is highly intelligent, willingly obedient, and a problem solver of extraordinary ability. She has tremendous stamina, which allows for the full expression of her committed work ethic. She is very warm and sensible around children and is neutral to other species of animals, preferring to focus on whatever task is before her. She is a highly territorial female that will actively defend her territory if called upon, but who will properly stand down when it is appropriate.
Galina is a black sable female with substantial boning and head type, deep rich pigment and classic German Shepherd expression. She has high-set ears, tight feet and beautiful front and rear angulation.
